TURKISH CYPRIOT LEADER Mustafa Akinci is embarking on a series of meetings with politicians, political party leaders and key-players this week.

According to his spokesman, he will meet with the representatives of the media and politicians to exchange views on the Cyprus problem and domestic issues on Wednesday.

The meetings come as Akinci attempts to push his vision of a reunified Cyprus - a goal which he said can be achieved this year.

On Friday, he will brief the representatives and the leaders of the political parties in northern Cyprus on the current negotiation process.

Akinci may also meet with ‘non-governmental organizations’ believed to be an important part of the process.

A spokesman for Mr. Akinci said that the two communities will give their final decision on any plan presented at a referenda.

Meanwhile, Cyprus negotiators Andreas Mavroyiannis and Ozdil Nami continue their meetings this week, to be followed by a two-week break.

They will resume their work during the last week of August, probably on the 25th, with daily meetings aiming to prepare the leaders` meeting to be held on September 1st.
