TWO AMERICAN PENSIONERS have been hauled in for questioning by police, after National Guard soldiers spotted them using a drone near an army base.
According to local media, the men, both 65, say they were flying their camera-equipped drone for fun near the Pomos Army base, in the Polis region.
Concerns about the behaviour of the two were raised from soldiers who believed they were acting in a suspicious and intrusive manner.
One news website said the two were: "moving suspiciously”.
Drones are becoming increasing popular in Cyprus, with hundreds of units believed to be in operation by private users.
One of the men reportedly lives in Cyprus and the other is a visitor.
Police are investigating.
