FinMin optimistic as Cyprus is close to completion of programme review

Cyprus is very close to the official completion of the sixth review of its economic adjustment programme, Finance Minister Harris Georgiades has said, appearing optimistic that the country will receive another positive review.

Contacts with the representatives of the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund have been concluded and we are now very close to the completion of the official review that will allow Cyprus to continue receiving financial aid and benefit from ECB`s quantitative easing tools, Georgiades told the press on Friday.

He said that the final completion of the evaluation will take place in a few days as more work is needed at technocratic level, and from distance, related to the foreclosure law and the insolvency framework.
